To the North-east of the Stadium of Ephesus, are seen the remains of the Croesus Gate of Ephesus.The road linked the city with the Temple of Artemis and extended to Sardes, began at this point.This was also the beginning of the Marble Street, which passed by the Great Theatre and the Stadium and reached the Magnesia Gate of Ephesus ( the Eastern gate ) on the East of the Panayir Mount.Although, plenty of Hellenistic materials found in the remains of this gate and in the walls on both sides, they are believed to have been built during the Byzantine period.
